40 paper models of ground structures of Lützerath on a scale of 1:20

Currently exhibited at the 16th Triennial of Small Sculpture in Fellbach from May 14 to September 28, 2025.

Rokas Wille photographed all newly built ground structures in Lützerath shortly before the eviction in January 2023. These photographs were digitally assembled by him into folding pl
ans and the models were created from them. However, he did not document the tree houses because there was too little time for it. This circumstance draws attention to a special type of protest architecture: the "treehouse without a tree" - because the ground structures are also "delay architecture". The activists can climb onto the roofs during a police operation. There they are at a height where special forces have to be deployed. It is hoped that this will delay the eviction.

This work was commissioned by the German Architecture Museum (DAM). It is an extension of five models of the same motif created independently by Rokas Wille. The work was exhibited in 2023 in the DAM's exhibition "Protest/Architecture" and in 2024 in the same exhibition at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna. In 2025, the work was exhibited at the 16th Triennial of Small Sculpture in Fellbach.
