"Herzogenriedbad" is a semi-documentary film about an public pool in a hot summer. It celebrates public space, leisure, and socializing. In the hot sun, the pools begin to glisten, the meadows and trees glow, and the crowd blurs together as in a fever.

Lützerath January 2023
A film miniature by Rokas Wille about Lützerath. January 2023.
Lützerath was a small village near Cologne that was destroyed and excavated for lignite mining in early 2023. Before that, it had been occupied for years – after most of the residents had already been resettled – by activists who wanted to prevent lignite mining under Lützerath. The amount of coal was as big, that several studies had calculated, it would exceed Germany's CO2 budget under the Paris Climate Agreement if burned. Lützerath was a place of collective resistance against the rule of economig growth and competition between states, against the rule of the market and capital. A place where the good life and a humane society were already beginning to shine through. This film miniature shows Lützerath a few days after the eviction. Nothing remains of the lively place; where tree houses and a kitchen stood not long ago, there is now a flat wasteland. A thin layer of snow covers everything. The police does not let us in. We remember their orgy of violence during the eviction. The ground and sky are white and empty.
